Mister Mind

This guy is not a Spider-Ham character.
Earth Two
The telepathic, work-like Mr. Mind came to Earth, because he enjoyed the planet's radio broadcasts especially
Charlie McCarthy. After learning Charlie didn't exist, he decided to conquer the Earth. He formed the Monster Society of Evil with Dummy (a living puppet), Ramulus (control plants), Mr. Who (super strong shapeshifter) (not to be confused with Doctor Who), Oom (an animated statue with magic powers) and Nyola (magic-using Aztec priestess). But, they quickly turned on him and he fled to Earth S. Without a leader, the All-Star Squadron creamed them.
Captain Marvel Adventures: "Nightmares From Now On"
On Earth S (in the 1940s), he conquer most of space and parts of Earth. So, he formed a massive version of the Monster Society including (but wasn't limited to) Benito Mussolini, Adolf Hitler, Captain Nazi (super strong), Doctor Sivana (a mad scientist), Dr. Smashi, Monster Students and the satyr Archibald. After stopping their mad plans, Earth-S Captain Marvel captured Mister Mind, which ultimately lead to the team's disband.
Return to the Society
After being electrocuted, his alien physiology put him into suspended animation and people thought he was dead. So when he woke, a taxidermist was going to stuff him! He stopped the taxidermist and made him make a fake, stuffed "Mr. Mind". So, he reformed the Society for the 3rd time with Dr. Sivana, IBAC, George and Siviana Jr. (Doctor Siviana's kids). They entered Mary and Uncle Marvel's dreams and terrorize them. But were stopped, when Uncle Marvel dreamt about the Marvels. Dr. Sivana was sent to prison, causing their disband.
The Society Strikes Back
Mr. Mind for the umpteenth time reformed the society. This time with the inhabits of 247 planets, Black Marvel (has the power of SHAZAM), Dr. Sivana, IBAC, Mister Atom (has nuclear-based powers), King Kull (has super strenght and intellgence) and Oggar (an immortal wizard). They tried to conquer the world (again!) and nearly successed.
World's Funniest
During a duel between Bat-Mite and Mr. Mxyzptlk, Mr. Mind reformed the team with Black Adam, Captain Nazi, Dr. Sivana, Evil Eye, Goat-Man, IBAC, Jeepers, Mister Atom, Mr. Banjo, unnamed Crocodile-men and silhouettes.
Power of Shazam!
After the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Mr. Mind in WW II tried be a scout for an invasion on Earth for Venus, only to be stop by Golden Age heroes. Decades later, he tried to conquer the Earth with Siviana and a army of Venus "worms". Captain and Mary Marvel killed all the worms expect for Mister Mind and put him in a superhuman prison, only to escape via the robotic Mr. Atom. He tried to clone him self to control the world's citizens, only to be stopped by the Green Lanterns.
JSA and 52
He tried to overthrow the government of Kahndaq with Black Adam's Monster Society team only to be stop by the Atom. In the 52 series, he causes many time paradoxes. He kidnapped Booster Gold's robot Skeet to use as a cocoon, while he turned into a giant moth-like alien. After a long hunt, Rip Hunter shrinks and "freezes" Mr. Mind.
Booster Gold
After escaping, Mr. Mind (in larva form) took over Booster's dad and allied himself with Ultra-Humanite, Per Degaton, Despero and Black Beetle. He later forced out of his host's body and is step on (and seemly killed) by Ted Kord.
Powers and Abilities
  • Larva Form- As a Larva, Mister Mind was a powerful telepathy. He also spin a super-strong silk at high speeds. He was also long lived.
  • "Moth" Form- He was a "hyperfly" (with increased space and time-controlling abilities) that "feeds" on the timelines in one universe. He was able to make 52 (exactly the same) timelines completely different (actually eating their history).

After being forced to return back to this larva form, he gains the power to reproduce asexually. But do to so, he needs a host to breed his "clones".

Viking Prince

The Viking Prince is the stuff of legends, but for a long time nobody knew why! In The Brave and the Bold issue 1-26, he was a amnesiac viking that a captain called "Jon". Despite the efforts of Thorvald, he regain his memory and learned he was the heir of a viking throne (his father was King Rikk) and Thorvald was next to be king if he couldn't. "Jon" had to do the "12 tasks of Thor" to regain his throne. It's unknown if he did so. However, Our Army at War # 162 claimed he was banned from Valhalla (Norse Heaven) by Odin (the king of the Norse gods), unless he died a heroic death. But, Odin gave him immunity to every known weapon. He somehow was frozen until World War II, where he was killed by plastic explosive (which weren't invented in the Prince's time). This version was adapted for the modern DC continuity (although in this he was teleported by a time warp instead of being frozen). In Birds of Prey # 29 (part of the modern continuity), Black Canary was sent to the 12th century were she met and had a short relationship with the Viking Prince (named Jon Haraldson here), before she returned to the 21st century. Jon took a bullet for meant Black Canary. He somehow survived and was describe as "mourning a love lost to time". In The War That Time Forgot mini-series, he is one of the many warriors from across time that appear.

Mr. Mighty

Mr. Mighty is so famous almost nobody has ever heard of him. Although technically we don't what he real origin is, he claims was an alien named Barb-Ell, the son of Dumb-Ell (a Jor-El parody), from the planet Neon (a reference to how Krypton is also the name of an element). The citizens of Neon ignored Dumb-Ell's warning the planet was going to explode! So, he launch his son into space. However, it turned out that Dumb-Ell was just a crackpot and the planet didn't explode! The next part, we know to be true. He founded (on Earth) the Freedom Brigade with his fellow superhero parodies (in case you haven't figured out MM is a Superman-parody): the Bowman (Green Arrow parody), Captain Swift (Flash), Lady Liberty (Miss America), the Mermaid (Aquaman), the Patriot (Uncle Sam) and Princess Power (Wonder Woman). He had the alter ego of Mr. Brent (first name unknown). He married Mermaid and had a son Leaner Brent a.k.a Awkward Man (a member of the Inferior Five). Mr. Mighty joined the staff of Dean Egghead's Academy for Super-Heroes (a parody of Professor Xavier's school for mutants), after about 20 years of retirement.

Brother Power the Geek

Brother Power is probably the weirdest comic hero I've ever blogged about.
History
Brother Power was a mannequin in an empty tailor shop. Two hippies (Paul Cymbalist and Nick Cranston) took over and dressed in hippie clothes that were "wet and bloodied" to stop shrinking. Eventually, they abandon the shop later. Somehow when stuck by lightning it animated (brought to life) the mannequin. Brother Power was captured and forced to be in the "Psychedelic Circus". After escaping, another hippie named Cindy gave him a face and he ran (and failed) for president. His misadventures in trying to find a job inspired hippies to do the same. He got a job at the J. P. Acme Corporation. He was last seen being launch into space after trying to stop a rocket launch.
Power and Abilities
He is a unique form of "pseudo-life". Because he is cloth dummy full of rags and is supported by framework inside of him, he is resistant to harm and is pliable. The lightning that animated him gave him super strength, speed and jumping ability. He can also absorb electricity.

Mister X

What would a mix of Martian Manhunter and Charles Xavier be like? Amalgam Comics decided to find out! Mr. X (J' onn J' onzz / Marco Xavier) was a telepathic shapeshifter that agree to help the JLX in their trek to find Atlantis. He used his telepathy to direct the JLX in battle and began a friendship with Aqua-Mariner (Aquaman and Sub-Mariner mix). Eventually, he and rest of the team found Atlantis, but they also found a fight with Will Mangus. During the battle, it was revealed Marco was a Skrull from Mars that fled to Earth. At first the JLX interpreted his as a deception, but Aqua-Mariner pointed out "that who judge are judged themselves".

Bizarro No.1 (Earth-One)

Every villain wish they could have their own mindless "Superman". One day, Lex Luthor tried to make this dream real (and failed). He built a Duplicator Ray. However when he tired on Superman, he create a twisted version of him. Bizarro (the clone) had the reverse thought-process of Superman (he acts the reverse of Superman). He had flight, Ice-vision (as opposed to Heat-vision), Flame-breathe (as opposed to Ice-breathe) and invulnerability. However in the process of Bizarro's creation, it also created blue kryptonite. While this has no effect on the Man of Steel, it's lethal to Bizarro (like "normal" kryptonite is to Superman). He took of the Bizarro World, when Bizarro No.2 died. This version of Bizarro was erased from the DC continuity because of the Crisis on Infinite Earths. This version is also the most famous, although he not the first (in an earlier adventure Bizarro-Superboy-like clone appeared that destroyed in his first appearance).

The Mask I-II

What is has a green head, juggernaut-like powers and little or no sanity? The Mask! Stanley Ipkiss was a neurotic and weak man that decided to buy his girlfriend, Kathy, a gift. He decided to buy her a jade mask. The mask started to talk to him! The mask convinced him to try it on. It turned him into a wacky, green-skinned headed man with superhuman psychical abilities (super agility, endurance etc.), reality warping, super intelligence and no self-control or sanity. He took revenge on everyone from the motor mechanics (that overcharge him a lot) to his first grade teacher. The media calls him "Big Head" (because the mask makes his head look large). He takes it off and a becomes aware of what happen. Due to a mysterious side-effect, he started to act abusive toward Kathy. So, she kick him out, but keeps the mask (since it was a gift). Stanley broke into Kathy's house (to steal the mask), but he was confronted by police. Putting on the mask, he killed most of them. He returned home and took off the mask, only to be killed by Kathy (who figured out who the Mask is). She gives the mask to Lt. Kellyaway and warns him about it. Not listening to what Kathy said he tried it on (as a joke). He becomes Big Head and decided to get revenge on the city crime lords (extremely violently). After nearly killing his friend (who was trying to stop him), he realize what he was doing and runs away. He buries the mask in with cement in his basement and vows to never use it again.

Red Hood I

You may have never heard of this guy, but he became one of Batman's moat famous foes. Red Hood was a mysterious criminal (possibly a former chemical engineer and then struggling comedian that could have been Jack) that donned a red dome helmet (that haf 1-way see-through glass), a red cape and a tuxedo. He tried to rob a chemical plant, but a certain cape crusader (Batman) got in his way. Left with no alternatives, he jumped into a vat of chemicals and swam away (his helmet had an emergency oxygen supply). In The Man Behind the Red Hood story, it was revealed that the chemicals turned his hair green, hid lips "rouge-red" and his skin "chalk-white". So he decided to become the clown-theme villain the Joker. He became Batman's arch-foe, while doing bizarre crimes like dressing up like famous comedic characters and rob people or using an utility belt (similar to Batman's) with a various clown-themes weapons (such as a hand buzzer and fake cigarettes that explode) and a small cork.

Heroes of Lallor

Duplicate Boy, Evolvo Lad, Gas Girl, Life Lass and Beast Boy
These champions of justice have powers that rival even the Legion of Super Heroes! Each of the original members (seen above) were roughly born about the same time. They all had super powers due to their parents being exposed to atomic radiation. They were raised by the dictatorship government of Lallor, but were banished for disagreeing with the government's
actions. They were trick by a villain, related to the Jungle King (a foe killed by the Legion), to attack the Legion. But, the government of Lallor was overthrown, so the 5 heroes went back home. Beast Boy died, while leading an animal revolt against the humans. The remaining member help out the Legion several times. Spider-Ham

Yes, I am blogging about a cartoon pig in a Spiderman-costume. Peter was a spider from a reality that was full of Mickey Mouse-cartoon-like animal people. Peter was a spider that lived in the basement / lab of May Porker. After using her invention, "the world's first atomic powered hairdryer", she became temporally radioactive. During a fit of delusion, she bit Peter giving him a pig-like appearance. Disoriented, he realize he still had his spider-like abilities:
"This is astounding! Am I a spider with the limitations of a pig? Or a pig proportionate strength and agility of a spider? I've become something greater than spider or pig... I've become a Spider-Ham!"
He decided to fight injustice. He adopted the name Peter Porker (partly because May thought that she was his aunt). He fought foes including Ducktor Doom (Doctor Doom parody), the Buzzard (Vulture parody), the Bull-Frog (Man-Bull parody) and Hogzilla (Godzilla-like swine). Other heroes of Spider-Ham universe (most of which were in back-up stories) include the X-Bugs (X-men), Deerdevil (Daredevil), Goose Rider (Ghost Rider), Awful Flight (Alpha-Flight) and Croctor Strange (Doctor Strange).

The Imperial Guard

Led by the most powerful humanoid in the Galaxy, the Shi'ar Imperial Guard is one team you don't want to mess with. The Imperial Guard is an "elite corps" that has sworn complete loyalty to the ruler of the empire. They helped the mad Emperor D' Ken in his plot to harness the power of the M' Krann Crystal (unknown to them the process would destroy the universe) by battling the X-Men and trying to kill D' Ken's rebellious and good sister, Lilandra. But when she took power, they switch their loyalty to her. The original team were homages to the Legion of Super Heroes. Gladiator (the leader) could fly at super speed, lift over 100 tons, virtually invincible (but some forms of radiation weaken him), has "laser-vision" and doesn't need to breathe for long periods of time. He was based on Mon-El. The other members were phasing Astra (Phantom Girl), the electricity controlling Electron (Cosmic Boy), the super-sensed Fang (Timber Wolf), the shape-shifting Hobgoblin a.k.a Shape-Shifter (Chameleon Boy), the energy-firing Impulse (Wildfire), sorceress Magic a.k.a Magique (Projectra), the super smart Mentor (Brainiac 5), the shrinking Midget a.k.a Scintilla (Shrinking Violet), darkness-controlling Nightside (Shadow Lass), the telepathic Oracle a.k.a. Sibyl (Saturn Girl), the super strong Quasar a.k.a. Neutron (Star Boy), the super strong Smasher (Ultra Boy), the energy-bolt-firing Starbolt (Sun Boy), the electric-bolt-generating Tempest a.k.a. Flashfire (Lightning Lad) and the super-growing Titan (Colossal Boy). Later, non-homage members Manta (create light), Earthquake ("psionically creates Earthquakes"), Warstar (super strong) and Hussar (has a "Neuro whip") joined.

Metal Men

Will Magnus (with the help of Thomas Oscar Morrow) created small computer-like spheres called "Responsomemter" that turn 6 human-shape metal robots into animated shape shifters. They each had different powers (with their shape-shifting powers they all had) and personalities based on there type of metal: the field leader Gold could stretch his body into infinity; the strong man Iron was super strong; slow-witted and loyal Lead could block radiation (usually by turning into a shield); the insecure Tin broke easily; the hot headed Mercury could melt and reform himself (due to being liquid at room temperature); and Platinum (acted like a "real" woman and was in love with Doc Magnus) could flatten and stretch herself (usually into coils). However although in their second appearance it said they had their personalities because the "Responsomemter" were exposed to "intense Aurora Borealis activity", but Tin and Platinum made robots with their own personalities that had unexposed "Responsomemter". Tin made a female tin-robot (roughly with the same personality) that he called "Beautiful", but everyone else called her "Nameless". Their foes included the Missile Men (Missile robots), B.O.L.T.S. (a giant robot with loads of built-in weapons) and Uranium (a rouge Metal Men-prototype) However later due to complains about too many robot foes, the Metal Men seek out more human foes, but mostly just got plastic robots. In Metal Men issue 32, "Nameless" made her last appearance. Later, the Metal Men get up-grades that cause feedback sending him into a coma, while the MM were hunted. But, they were saved by Doc's brother Col. David Mangus (but humanity still distrust them). However they are seemly destroyed, when really it faked by Mr. Conan (first name unknown) and he and Dr. Peter Pygmalion help them make fake identities as humans. Eventually, Doc (who was an insane criminal) gets his sanity back thanks to Metal Men. However, most of events of human distrusting were erased because of Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Justice League of America

(Left to Right) Aquaman, Martain Manhunter, Wonder Woman, Zatanna, Superman, Flash II, Green Lantern II, Green Arrow and Black Canary II
These heroes are the mightiest champions of the DC universe. What banned these hero together?
Silver Age
A evil, starfish-shaped alien called Starro the Conqueror (that could create mini-mind-controlling clones of himself) wanted to conquer the world! So Aquaman, the Flash II (Barry Allen), Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Green Lantern II (Hal Jordon) and Martian Manhunter joined forces and stopped Starro. They decided to become a team, because they defeated Starro so well. Eventually, Green Arrow, Atom II and Hawkman joined. Their base was a hidden cave at Happy Habor, Rhode Island. Snapper Carr was their "boy sidekick", but the Joker trick him into revealing were the JLA base was, causing a resignation where Wonder Woman and Martain Manhunter left the team.
Satellite Years
After the "Snapper incident", the JLA got a satellite base. Black Canary II, Phantom Stranger, Elongated Man, Red Tornado II, Hawkwoman, Zatanna and Firestorm all joined. Wonder Woman returned. However this incarnation was short-lived.
Justice League of ... Detroit?!
An extremely short-lived version of the team was based on Detroit and were called the "Justice League of Detroit". Members were Aquaman, Zatanna, Martain Manhunter and Elongated Man. However, Vixen, Gypsy, Steel and Vibe were unofficial members.
Justice League International
This international Justice League's member was mostly "lesser known" characters. The ranks were Batman, Black Canary II, Blue Beetle II, Captain Marvel, Doctor Light (female Japanese version), Doctor Fate, Martian Manhunter, Mister Miracle and Green Lantern III (Guy Gardner). Later former Global Guardian members Fire and Ice; Captain Atom; Booster Gold; and two Rocket Reds (Dimitri Pushkin and a robot Manhunter in disguise) joined. This team was much more humorous than previous incarnations. The team split into the Justice League of America and Europe.
JLA
Another, JLA team was formed. Members were all of the original members (see: Silver Age) and they were based on the moon. This version of the team only dealt with world crisiss and not minor crime like petty crooks (such as Captain Cold and Rainbow Raider).
52
During the events of 52, Firestorm formed his own version of the team that included himself, Ambush Bug, Bulleteer and Super-Chief.
Modern
Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman created the newest version of the team with Green Lantern II, Black Canary II, Red Arrow (formerly Speedy), Red Tornado II, Vixen, Black Lightning and Hawkgirl.

Metal Facts and Fancies

By reading the Metal Men you learn about the properties of lead, gold, tin, platinum, mercury and iron, but have you ever wonder about the other metals. For some reason for comic books to be mailed they had to have stuff beyond the story. So DC comic had "educational" facts pages. For the Metal Men, they had Metal Facts and Fancies. At first it talked about lead, gold, tin, platinum, mercury and iron-related facts. Then it talked about other metals. Eventually some of these metal got their own "robots". The notable ones were:

  • Technetium- He is the first man-made metal, because of this he acts like a stereotypical grandfather to his metal "kids" (MM issue 8).

  • Copper- She fused with Platinum into Bronze, (MM issue 9).

  • Arsenic- He was seen leaping towards insects from a spray gun (MM issue 8).

This stopped at Metal Men issue 16.

What if...? (vol.1)

What if the Spider Man joined the Fantastic Four? Or what would happen if Doctor Strange worked for the evil demon Dormammu? What events would unfold if the Hulk had Bruce's intelligence? Stan Lee and the rest of the Marvel talents dicided to answer that.

In What If...? (officially copyrighted as What If) vol. 1, Utau the Watcher (a cosmic being that lives on the moon) narrated what would have happen if events took a different turn then they did by showing the reader alternate realities. Such as, issue X might have "What if Blob joined the X-men?" or "What if Reed Richard became the Thing?". The series proved so popular Marvel created eight volumes of it!

Main Characters in "the Watchmen"

The main characters in the Watchmen are (from left to right):

  • Ozymandias- Adrian Vedit is (or least thinks he is) the smartest man on the planet. He was vigilante, but later decided to become business man. He start a superhero franchise (action figures, animated series, etc.) based on his former alter ego. He had a genetically altered lynx for a pet. He is based on Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt.

  • Silk Spectre II- Laurie Jespeczyk was the daughter of her predecessor of that name. She was a hero for 10 years until vigilantes were banned. She started to date Doctor Manhattan. When Doc went to Mars, she got kicked out of her government-funded home and moved in with Nite-Owl II. Later, she joined Doc on Mars.

  • Doctor Manhattan- Doctor Jonathan Osterman was transformed into a blue-skin being able to control molecules by an "Intrinsic Field Subtractor"-related accident. He started to become "less human" (which bugged his girlfriend Laurie) to the point he moved to Mars. He is based on Captain Atom.

  • Nite-Owl II- Daniel Dreiberg is a retired hero that worshiped the first Nite-Owl. He has owl-theme gadgets and a owl ship that he never uses any more. He is the only member of the "Crimebusters" to not have revealed his alter ego. He is based on Ted Kord (a.k.a Blue Bettle II). However, at first look, he seems to based on Batman.

  • The Comedian (sitting)- Edward Morgan Blake began his crime-fighting career as a teen in the 1930s. He thinks humans are naturally savage, so he "parodies" it. He became a government agent (along with Doctor Manhattan). He died at the beginning of the series, but is constantly seen in flashbacks. He is based on Peacemaker, but has elements of Nick Fury.

  • Rorschach- Walter Joseph Kovacs was the victim of an abusive mother. After being in a boy's home, he became an unskillful tailor. He kept a rejected fabric, that had changing Rorschach-like patterns on it. After reading about the death of Kitty Genovese, he decided to fight crime, which ultimately leads to him becoming homicidal towards criminals. He spends most of the series solving the death of the Comedian, before being sent to jail for murder (he was framed). He eventually is freed by Nite-Owl. He is based of the Question, but he has been compared to Mr. A.

Martinex T'Naga

What if the sinister aliens took over the Galaxy? All the Pluvians (people from Pluto) were covered in crystalline facets. This allowed them to survived in extreme temperatures. Martinex was a technician and scientist that cold emit cold and hotness from his hands. An alien race called the Badoons killed all the Pluvians expect him. Along with other last-members-of-their-races Charlie-27 (from Jupiter), Yondu (Beta Centauri IV) and Vance Astro (from Earth), he founded the Guardians of the Galaxy. The double G rebelled against the-now-emperors-of-the-Galaxy Badoons. After stopping the Badoons with the help of 20th century heroes, Martinex and the rest of his team fought crime in the 20th century, until returning to their time.

Fin Fang Four

The Fin Fang Four were four monsters- Fin Fang Foom, Elektro (not Electro), Gorgilla and Godgam- that signed up to be hypnotized and "reshaped" so they could fit in society. Foom became a chef at the Baxter Building, Elektro became a mail man also at the Baxter Building, Gorgilla became a window wiper at guess where and Godgam become the B.B.'s parking attendant. But eventually they returned to their normal forms and teamed up to stop the now-gaint Tim Boo Baa.

Amalgam Comics

What happens when worlds collide? Marvel and DC comics showed fans that in Marvel vs. DC (or vise versa depending on the issue). Beings from both the Marvel and DC universe battled each other for superiority and the loser's dimension would be destroyed! But neither side was willing to give up. So to prevent total destruction, the Living Tribunal and the Spectre combined the two universes. However, as a result, the beings from each universe fused with other beings from the opposite universe. So. both Marvel and DC comics created 24 one-shots featuring these "amalgam characters" under the fake comic publisher Amalgam Comics. Alex Asher had to ruin the fun by "fixing" the universes back to their original state, ending the wave of Amalgam Comics.
But, Doctor Strangefate (in Dr. Strange's pyshce) "rebuilt" the universe (for the 1997 line) only to be destoreyed again. Amalgam comics included (but not limited to): JLX (Justice League and X-Men), the Magnetic Men featuring Magneto (Magnetic Men: Metal Men and Brotherhood of Mutants mix / Magneto: Magneto and Will Mangus), Bat-Thing (Man-Bat and Man-Thing), Super Soldier (Superman and Captain America) and Lobo the Duck (Lobo and Howard the Duck). Alex Asher had to ruin the fun by "fixing" the universes back to their original state, ending the wave of Amalgam Comics.

Horsemen of the Apocalypse

The Horsemen of the Apocalypse are the four servant the super powerful, shapeshifting X-Men-foe Apocalypse. Each member are superhumans with powers relating to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Although their are only four of them their has been only three main core members (the Horsemen of Death-role has been multiple people). The three main core members are:
  1. Plague- She is a mutant able to generate diseases. She was a member of the literally underground mutant team the "Morlocks", until the Mutant Massacre. After that she joined the Horsemen.
  2. War- Abraham Lincoln Kieros was soldier that was a U.S soldier that got injured in Vietnam. Felt betrayed by his country, he allowed Apocalypse to genetically alter him to be able to create sonic booms by slapping his hands.
  3. Famine- Autumn Rolfson was a rich girl with an anorexic eating disorder and the power to disintegrate organic matter. Upset about the way her parents treated her, she away and eventually became one of Apocalypse's pawns.

These foursome of evil were a powerful enemy to the X-Factor.

Legion of Doom!

The Evil 3-Inch Plastic that is the Legion of Doom!

The Legion of Doom is an unusual case: it is made of comic book characters, but it's from a television show! The Legion of Doom was the "Challenge of Super Friends" show's analogous to the Secret Society of Super Villains. Lex Luthor banded these villainous criminals together to destroy the Super Friends. All their members are enemies of members of the Super Friends. Members are:

  • Bizarro (Willaim Callaway)- He is Superman's idiotic clone. On the show he has all the powers of Superman.

  • Black Manta (Ted Cassidy)- This evil inventor is Aguaman's arch-enemy (or at least the closest thing he got to one)!

  • Brainiac (Ted Cassidy)- He is super genius android that hates Superman.

  • Captain Cold (Dick Ryal and Michael Bell)- He is a villain with a freeze-ray that hates Flash!

  • Cheetah (Marlene Aragon)- She is a Wonder Woman foe with cheetah-powers.

  • Giganta (Ruth Forman)- Thanks to stealing mystic powder from an Apache chief, she gained the power to grow to super sizes and back. She is a Wonder Woman foe.

  • Gorilla Grodd (Stanley Rlaph Ross)- Exiled from his homeland of super intelligent apes for being evil, he became a foe of Flash.

  • Lex Luthor (Stanley Jones)- He is the evil-genius-long-time-foe of Superman and the Legion's leader.

  • Riddler (Michael Bell)- He is a Batman foe that uses riddles to confuse his foes.

  • Scarecrow (Don Messick)- Thanks to his fear gas, he can make the worst fears of people seem to come to life. But Batman is still brave enough to stop him.

  • Sinestro (Vic Perrin and Don Messik)- He is a former Green Lantern and now uses a yellow power ring.

  • Solomon Grundy (Jimmy Weldon)- He is a dim-witted zombie with superhuman strength and endurance and foe of the Green Lantern.

  • Toyman (Frank Welker)- He is a pyshco inventor who dresses like a jester and uses toy-theme weapons. But I have no idea if it's the Winslow Schott or the Jack Nimball version.

Despite the opening: "Banded together from remote galaxies, thirteen of the most sinister villains of all time - the Legion of Doom! ", 1o / 13 of them are natives of Earth. Only Sinestro (from Korugar), Brainiac (from Colu) and Bizarro (from Bizarro World) are aliens. They had a swamp dome-shaped base called the "Hall of Doom" able to travel in a bunch of ways. Please note: there is a wrestling team with the same name.

Yellow Lantern

History
Prior to Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Bizarro-Hal Jordan got a Lantern ring and Green Lantern battery from Bizarro, but Bizarro gave him a yellow lantern ring. So after 24 hours,  Bizarro-Hal became powerless (because the Bizarro-Yellow ring was powerless against green). Bizarro offered to craft a Yellow Lantern battery. But Bizarro-Hal refused because if (in Bizarro logic) the Green Lanterns are fearless, a Yellow Lantern has to be fearful and easily scared by anything. He also believed (based on Bizarro logic) being the most easily scare being in the universe makes the most courageous person on the Bizarro World due to their obsession with being backwards.
Afer Crisis on Infinite Earths, Bizarro III used his replicating powers to create Bizarro versions of Earth people and a world for them to live on. Among these imperfect duplicates was the Bizarro Green Lantern a.k.a. the Yellow Lantern. He was a member of the Bizarro Justice League and helped them stop Bizarro Doomsday. The Sinestro Corp ordered him away thus saving him from the destruction of the Bizarro World. Yellow Lantern was among the Sinestro Corp. agents that attacked Coast City.
Powers
The pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths version of the Yellow Lantern had different powers than a post-Crisis counterpart. He had a Yellow Lantern ring that works like a Green Lantern ring, but ineffective toward the color Green. Since his battery was green, he was powerless.
Post-Crisis, he also had a Sinestro Lantern ring. However, this one worked since he had a proper power battery. Unlike most Sinestro rings, he cannot affect things colored green.

Ambush Bug

Ambush Bug goes to court and his lawyer is the same guy suing him.

What is a seven-letter word for lunatic? Ambush Bug. On the planet Schwab, Brum-El got awards for being the "most well dressed" and became famous. One day, he got a letter (that he thought if he threw it away his life would be completely unchanged). So he did. He soon learn that it was really a intergalactic chain-letter! He should have been careful, because the last person to break the chain-letter was Jor-EL of Krypton! The now-disgraced Brum-El built an one-person rocket to save his clothes. But it was attacked by a radioactive, space spider, steering it toward Earth. In the attack and falling to Earth, only three pieces of clothes survived: 2 socks and a green, super suit with two orange antennae. Irwin Schwab (of Earth) was in his apartment and went to the roof to see what was wrong with the television antenna and discovered the now-damage rocket. He manage to get the suit and discovered the antenna were hollow and they created "bug-bots" that could teleport him. Meanwhile, Brum-El was actually looking forward to his planet's doom, only to have none thing happened. At first Irwin used this suit for evil and tried to destroy Superman as Ambush Bug, but only annoy him. So he became a hero and tried to befriend him, only to annoy him. This is because, due to his mental illness, Irwin can't understand what really is happening around him. He usually has bizarre adventure such as getting sent to Underworld and get forced to do stand-up comedy. His arch-enemy is a living sock called "Argh! Yle!" with a Dr. Doom-like mask.

Kid Eternity

Kid Eternity (left) and Mr. Keeper (right)
Quality Comics
Eternity was a nameless kid (who only remember his "Gran'pa" calling him that) that was killed by a U-Boat that sunk his granddad's fishing boat. However, he discovered to a mix-up he died seventy-five too soon. To fix the error, he was turned into a supernatural superhero for the next seventy-five years. He could good historical / mythological figures or become intangible / tangible via saying "Eternity". He was also aided by the idiot that made the error, Mr. Keeper. Notable villains included Her Highness and Silk (two con women) and Master Man (who had similar powers to KE, but summoned evil guys).
DC Comics
The owner of Quality sold his company to DC Comic. Kid Eternity lived in the same universe as Captain Marvel (which is different from the main reality), Earth-S. The reason this happen was the writer thought his powers were very similar to the Marvels (activating superpowers via a magic word). He was, now, Christopher "Kit" Freeman, brother of Freddy Freeman (Captain Marvel Jr.). He became a supporting character for the Big Red Cheese. Later in 1990s, Vertigo Comics (imprint of DC) unveiled a dark version of Eternity. His grandpa was actually a sexual predator (using Kid for his own purposes). He was a fishing boat, when a U-Boat blew it up. He went to a pseudo-heaven created by the Lords of Chaos. They manipulated him into being their pawn and think that he died seventy-five too soon and their sending him back was to fix the error. They gave him a minor Lord (Mr. Keeper) as a guide. They did this to speed up the evolution of mankind, so God will let them back into Heaven. The people he summons are actually demons in disguise. He was killed in JSA # 1, only to come back in Teen Titans # 31 via the new Brother Blood. He rebelled againist the Lords of Choas and nearly lost his powers only to be saved by the Lords of Order. But, he was weakened. His powers were similar to his pre-Veritgo except he could only summon thr figures for little over a minute. He might have beaten to death by the Calculator (mad that KE couldn't get his dead son back).

Big Bang Comic Heroes!

Big Book of Big Bang Comics
Big Bang Comic Info: Big Bang Comics is a comic publisher that makes comic book characters based off of Golden and Silver age comic book character. There are two main realities: Earth-A (the Silver Age world) and Earth-B (the Golden Age).
Characters: Here are some notable heroes from Big Bang Comics:
  • Dr. Weird- Dr. Rex Ward (from the 24th century) created a time machine and went back in time to 1940 (on the Silver Age Earth). He died. He created a time paradox: he was man, who died before he was born! He became a undead creature. Now he wanders the Earth and fighting crime, until he gets to his true time and finally rest in peace. Doctor Weird can become invisible and intangible at will; fly; teleport; turn people to stone by looking at them; can talk to the dead; has visions; and is superhuman strong. He is based off of Mr. Justice, but has elements of Marvel's Doctor Strange and DC's Spectre.
  • Protoplasman- His origin are unknown, he is the comic relief of Big Bang Comics. He either has body elastic or to turn his body to a liquid state allowing him to appear he's stretching. He works closely with Knight Watchman. He has a zany personality like Jim Carrey. He is obviously based off of Plastic Man.
  • Knight Watchman- His brother and sister-in-law were killed by criminals, that Ted (the brother) owed money. So Reid Randall became a Batman- type anti-hero. His foes include Mr. Mask (based on Clayface), Pink Flamingo (a mix of Joker and Penguin) (don't ask), Quizmaster (Based on the Riddler) and Grandfather Clock (loosely based on Clock King).
  • Ultiman (Earth A)- Chris Kelly gained flight, laser-vision (like heat vision), "ultra-human" strength, speed, hearing and invincibly after the Project Gemini incident thanks to radioactive meteor. His main foe is Reverso (as the name implies he's based off of Bizarro). Ultiman is based off of Superman.
  • The Beacon- Earth-A Julie Gardner discover a power crystal that had three actions (each time one of them were used it transformed color): energy absorption (red), super strength (green) and defense (yellow). She decided to become a superhero and called herself Beacon. But in the Big Bang Comic's verison of "Crisis of Infinite Earths", she lost it and Earth-B geologist Scott Martin found and became a hero too and took the same name. However unlike Julie, Scott put the crystal in a hard-hat.
  • Mr. Martain- CH'kk KK'xx is a martian that went to Earth to make sure the Nuclear Age didn't up in tragedy. His ship was shot down by Americans, mistaking him for a Communist attack, and crashed in Roswell. He took the alter ego of Chuck Cox. He has super strength, teleportion and a shrink ray. He is based off of Martian Manhunter.
  • Robo-Hood- On Earth A, a suit of Armor "not designed to be worn by any knight" and had "an intricate system of gears and mechanism, dating back to the middle ages" was found and sent to a museum for research. The watchman, Arthur Dodd, figured out it was a robot! One night, he was shot by a thief in front of the armor. Then he had a vision of Merlin telling him that there were 3 of the suits and they were built to house fallen knights and the robots were "strong as any shield (with) marksmanship more precise than any mortal". Then Dodd's soul was teleported into the machine! Using arrows on display, he avenge his death. The thief said he was caught by "a robot Robin Hood- a Robo-Hood". He is a amalgam of DC comic's Green Arrow and Robot Man

Johnny Sorrow

"Hello, sir! Why are taking off your mask? AAH!!!!!"
-Victim 162 of Johnny
Johnny was a silent movie actor, until the "talkies" sent him into retirement. So he turned to a life of crime. He stole the "Subspace Prototype", which made him intangible. But Sandy the Golden Boy destroyed it, causing Johnny to go to another dimension. There his face was scarred and the "King of Tears" let him return. But now he was invisible until he took off his mask. He soon learned he was so scarred he killed anyone who look at him (with a few a exceptions)! He also learned the souls of those he killed went to the "King of Tears". He became an enemy of Sandy. Later joined the Injustice Society. Now he is the "King of Tears" enforcer.

Issue 3 of their series
Beware of the SSSV! Formed by Darkseid (enemy of the New Gods), he did this to replace the ineffective Intergang. He got these mind-like villains: Captain Comet, a Paul Kirk-clone, Captain Boomerang, Captain Cold, Copperhead, Gorilla Grodd, Mirror Master, Shadow Thief and Star Sapphire. After learning why Darksied formed the team, they rebelled against him and functioned on their own. They plagued many super heroes and super hero teams. The Society still has struggles within the group for leadership.

Echo (DC Comics)

I want to shine some more ligth on Echo. Myke-4 Astor teams up with the Adult Legion of Super-Villains (for unknown reasons) calling himself "Echo". While the LSV try to lead their heroic counterparts to their deaths, Echo ambushed Cosmic Boy. Using his sound manipulation (manifested as vibration waves and sonic scream), he nearly defeated Cosmic Man (that time line's older Cosmic Boy)! But Cosmic Man use his magnetic control to take away the air from Echo (since it's oxygen and nitrogen are slightly paramagnetic) to knock him out and render him powerless (since sound travels through air).

Number None

I am writing about Number None, because I was running out of room in the "Brotherhood of Dada" blog and didn't put any detail.

Number None is the most elusive super villain ever and is apparently invisible. As Mr. Nobody said, Number None is every nuisance that happens to you that you didn't expect. Number None seems to be able to transform itself into anything that can get in your way and is invisible until he does so.

He joined Mr. Nobody's second Brotherhood of Dada. He manifest himself 3 times: 1) The door that hit Agent !, while closing itself. 2) The banana peel that Crazy Jane slipped on. 3) The step that was crush under John Dandy's feet.

Its unknown if John Dandy killed Number None, because it unknown if it can be killed.

Radiation Roy

How Radiation Roy's try out for the Legion went
He has been a wannabe-hero, a villain, a hero and blood-thirsty alien hunter! Roy Travich developed the power to emit radiation, so be could join his heroes: the Legion of Super-Heroes. But he has little control over this power and was rejected. It didn't help that after Saturn Girl read his inner desires, she couldn't sleep for 2 nights. Angry and bitter, he joined the Legion of Super-Villains. He had relationship with Spider Girl, but this ended. The radiation took it toll on Roy, so he got a red containment suit to protect him. He later formed the "Justice" League Earth with other Earth-born Legion rejects Storm Boy (can control weather via a remote), Golden Boy (has the power of Midas), Earth Man (first known as Absorbency Boy) (can absorb super powers), Tusker (can grow unbreakable tusks) and Eye-ful Ethel (has eyes all round his head). They acted like priests and said Superman's Krypton origins were lies and the Legion were going to invade the Earth. They were worshiped as heroes by kids. They were actually mercilessly hunted every alien they could find (including the Legion of Super-Heroes). The Legion of Super-Heroes, Superman and the Legion of Substitute-Heroes exposed them and the league was sent to jail on the planet Tarkon-Galtos. But they were freed by Superboy Prime and they joined his Legion of Super-Villains (which had almost every foe the Legion of Super-Hero faced). While attacking the United Planet (yes, like the United Nations, but with planets), Radiation Roy killed Myg (the second Karate Kid), before Lighting Lad electrocuted him.

Martian Manhunter

Early Years
J' onn J' onzz was a "normal" green martian, martian manhunter (police officer), until the mad Ma' alefa' ak (a green martian) spread a disease spread by telepathy that caused the green martain to burst into fire (their one weakness). Ma' alefa' ak was immune, because he has no telepathy and had immunity to fire. This plague kill everyone, expect him and J' onn (including J' onn's wife and daughter). J' onnn trapped Ma' alefa' ak under Mount Mons (Mars' biggest mountain).

Welcome to Earth!
He spent countless years until Dr. Saul Erdel built a machine to try to talk to martians. Image his surprise when it teleported him one! Dr. Saul Erdel helped nurse the distraught alien, before dying from a heart attack. Now stuck with no way home, J' onn became a superhero with the alter ego of John Jones (a detective that in reality was dead). He later became a founding member of the Justice league along with Flash (Barry Allen), Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Hal Jordon), Superman, Aguaman and Batman.

Justice League International
While severing in the JLI, J' onn become the straight man for the team's comical situations and also obsessed with oreos cookies (partly due to Captain Marvel's influence). J' onn reveal his "real form" is really a mix of his human and martian forms.

Checkmate
When Checkmate tried to imprison the world's criminals on another planet, J' onn saved them.

Blackest Nigth
Having died a short time ago, J' onn joined the Black Lanterns. He confronts Barry Allen and Hal Jordon and says they should be dead before figthing them.

Powers and Abilites
Martian Manhunter has alot of powers making him "the Swiss Army Knife of superheroes". These are most from his telekinesis, genetic tampering and molecule control over his body. His amazing powers include:

  • Shape-Shifting- J' onn has the to seemly limitless mental control over his shape and color.

  • Invisibility- J' onn can stop light from bouncing off of him, making him unable to be seen.

  • Phasing- Somehow he is able to become intangible like Phantom Girl.

  • Superhuman Durability- He can absorb almost any kinetic energy and harden his body so much it rivals Superman!

  • Superhuman Strength- He is one of the strongest being on Earth. With 100 + class strength, he can lift oil tankers!

  • Regeneration- J' onn can grow back lost limbs and body parts.

  • Flight- Manhunter has been seen flying at speed of Mach 10 (7690 MPH for you not-brainiacs) and 7 miles per second.

  • Superhuman Endurance- J' onn can work under extreme conditions and endure more then "normal" humans.

  • Extrasensory senses- Manhunter has nine senses!

  • Telepathy- He is one of the Earth's strongest telepathes. He has the following powers via telepathy: illusion casting; sleep inducing; mind scanning; creating metal sheilds (stopping him from being affected by telepathy); downloading information from people's brains; limited mind control; thought sensing; can create telepathic links; attack people mentally.

However these power have one weakness: fire. He is scared of fire (it unknown if this a cultural or personal fear). Exposure to fire will cause to lose his powers and become vulnerable.

Adult Legion of Super-Villains

The Legion of Super Villains are the villainous counterparts to the Legion of Superheroes (a team of heroes in the 30th / 31st century). The "adult" LSV was the first incarnation of this team.
These most of villains are base off of Legion of Super-Heroes members. It is unknown if they have any connection to Tarik the Mute (who formed our timeline's LSV). They basically try to destroy Superman and the LSH. Members are:
  • Saturn Queen- She is a telepathic woman from Saturn that was bored with the crime-free Saturn. So she left and joined the LSV. It's revealed there's a younger verison of her in the "real" LSV's timeline. She is based off of Saturn Girl.
  • Cosmic King- Laevar Bolto built a machine that can change the psychical properties of any object. He gain this power, when he accidentally walk through a beam, the machine was firing. The government of Venus exiled him. He didn't take that well. So he join the LSV. He based off of Cosmic Boy.
  • Lightning Lord- Mekt Ranzz was with brother and sister on a space ship that ran out of fuel. So he try to get a "lightning beast" to fuel it. But the beast tried to kill him. However, he, his brother and sister gained the power to create and control lighting, because of the beast. Mekt became a super villain called Lighting Lord, while his brother and sister became the super-heroes Lighting Lad and Lighting Lass. He later decided to join the LSV.
  • Chameleon Chief- Almost nothing about his past is known. While he looks like a Durlan, he claims he's not from Durla. But he might be telling the truth, because as he can shapeshift (like Durlans), he also can change the shape of anything, he touches (which "normal" Durlans can't do). He is based off of Chameleon Boy.
  • Sun Emperor- Somehow Nigel Douglous gained Sun Boy's (who he is based off of) power to emit and control heat and light.
  • Lex Luthor- Thanks to a lab accident involving Superboy, Lex lost his hair. He became mad at him and has become the boy of steel's arch-enemy. He kinda like a mad scientist. He is one of the few members that is not based off of a LSH member.
  • Echo- He is a mysterious man with sonic and sound-based powers. He is one of the few members that is not based off of a LSH member.
  • Beauty Blaze- She is another Sun Boy "copycat". She has his powers. She is probably based off of Sun Boy.
Later the adult Legion of Super-Villains' timeline was destroyed.

Vision I (Aarkus)

Aarkus was a superhero from the "Smoke-world" that came to Earth during War World II. He was suppose to keep the Cosmic Cube safe, but was distracted by World War 2. He took the name "the Vision" and battled Nazi. But later the Cosmic Cube (corrupted by human fear and despair) transformed him into a super powerful evil demon D' Spayre. But Doctor Strange and Echo used the Cosmic Cube to turn Aarkus good again and banish (the now-separate-entity) D' Spayre. Now as Aarkus, he join the Invaders
Vision has flight, ice manipulation, illusion casting, immortality, telepathy, superhuman endurance, teleportion (limited to wherever there's smoke) and wind burst generation.

Trivia: 1) Saturn Girl said that she, Lightning Lad and Cosmic Boy got their powers from being alien, but it was revealed Lightning Lad got his powers when attacked by a "lightning beast". 2) Although this was intended to be a one-shot, the Legion was popular enough to feature in later stories.
